What it is

A close friend was getting married, and I built the wedding site. More than 100 guests used it.

It has a page for each thing a guest needs to know: the day’s schedule, the dress code, directions, places to stay, the wish list, and who to contact. It also takes the RSVP. The site is in Swedish.

On a phone

The site is mobile-first. On a phone the menu slides up from the bottom of the screen, and the RSVP link sits in it with the reply-by date in its label.

Each information page is one column of white cards. On the directions page, each address opens in Google Maps.

The RSVP

The RSVP is a form in 4 short steps, with a progress bar on top. A guest who can’t come skips to the last step.

Answers are saved in the browser between steps, so a guest who closes the tab doesn’t start over. The last step shows a summary before anything is sent. The confirmation page shows the answers again, with confetti.

The answers post straight from the browser to a Google Form, so the RSVP runs without a backend.

Sky and clouds

The whole site sits on a blue sky. Clouds drift across at 3 distances, each at its own slow speed, and an illustration of the couple flying through them opens the start page.

A small snowmobile with wings flies past too.
